JOSEPH SCOTT: My name is Joe Scott and I've been practicing law since 1994. I chose to be a criminal defense attorney because it's the most challenging area of the law there is. It's our philosophy that everyone deserves the best defense possible. That's what the American system is based upon and that's what we believe in.
JOSEPH SCOTT: When I see someone walk into a courtroom without legal representation, I shudder, thinking how they're going to pay for this. Often, people think they're going to save their money by not hiring an attorney. They end up generally paying more, being fined more, having bonds set higher and their sentences are much greater than had they spent money and hired an attorney.
