Prominent bestselling sports author, Jim Dent was sentenced to serve 10 years in the Texas prison sytem after being convicted for his 9 th and 10 th DUIs. Dent is the author of The Junction Boys and Manziel Mania (rumor has it that he didn’t go to Touchdown Johnny’s rehab facility). Granted, a decade sounds like a long time, and it is; however, Jim did himself no favors by fleeing to Mexico after he pled guilty and he was on the lamb for a year before he returned to face the music. Because of the unique facts of his case, Jim must serve at least half of the sentence before he can be considered for parole. Sounds like he’ll have some time to work on a few books!
